Today is Macmillan’s official thanking day, and I wanted to say a huge thank you for everything you’ve done to support Macmillan.

Thanks to you, we were able to make a difference to the lives of 1.9 million people living with cancer last year. Your support has allowed people with cancer to get on with the things that make life worth living.

It’s a huge privilege to have worked with you all, and I can’t tell you how grateful I am. Here’s some of the different ways the money you raise on behalf of Macmillan could have been used:

5,520 people in Yorkshire have called our Macmillan Support Line
3,000 people in Yorkshire were helped with their finances with a Macmillan grant
26,620 people in Yorkshire received support from our Mobile Information Support Services from the 990 hours we spent in the county and
Nationally 880,258 people received support from Macmillan nurses
